Fantasy Railroad pooling/Comments vs. Favs.

Mon Dec 21, 2009, 11:48 AM
The whole prospect of art stealing has (once again) reared it big ugly head. This time, though, it’s been in the form of off the site art stealing, which in the long run really is just a par for the run for those of us who post art online, so I won’t bother you with the particulars of my adventure catching and prosecuting a thief. (Note to feature thieves....if your gonna post my art on another website under my name...check to see I don’t have an account already there myself. Two Railwolves kind of draws suspicion, no?)

Anyway, it dawned on me that the whole of DA’s Fantasy Railroad community has never had a formal agreement on tributes and peaces of RR equipment sneaking into art. Now while I see this as not being a bad thing, it can hypocritical to allow one person to draw a boxcar with **** RR on it and then freak out and outcast another for the same. If you’re going to open your doors to other Railroads, then do it. But don’t force yourself like a worshiping choir member onto someone else’s RR.

So.... that being said, I think as a way to grow stronger as a community and to extend olive branches with each other on the common grounds that we like trains (steam, diesel, electric, fart powered, evil powered, who cares ALL TRAINS) that we should post an agreement that our railroads allow the pooling of equipment, both passenger and freight, if the artist likes and chooses. This does not mean that a WRR boxcar has to be in any of your pics, just that you are allowed to do it and encouraged, rather then the fear of drawing it, and then having your head chewed off. After all, that is not stealing, but mealy attributing someone else’s Railroad and forwarding the friendship and comradely we have for our love for trains.

That being said I will (once again) outline what IS stealing. So that no hypocrisy dwellers will hit me on that. Stealing is the posting of someone else’s work, digital or otherwise as your own, copy pasting is a good example. Copying one of my mages of the Texas, and pasting it into your image, is stealing, drawing a boxcar, locomotive, or otherwise in your style with your hands not tracing, is a tribute. End of the story. I don’t want to have to go throw that anymore. OK. We are all adults and know our boundaries on each other.

With that being said, I do agree that the Western Outbound Louisiana and Florida Railroad and Navigation Company is apart of the Fantasy Railroad Pooling agreement. Even though its time frame in 1903 and some of you I swear are in the year 4673. ^^

Also, check out :icongunslinger87: ‘s journal on Comments Vs. favs....I agree completely with what he says and encourage more commenting and critiquing on art, as after all, we are artists wanting to further and prefect our respected styles.

That being said, I’m still on Ma’s crappy desktop. Can’t wait for my own PC again. Might have to wait till after Christmas. >< but that’s alright.

That being said, how mean times have I said That being said...I say alot no? XD

good news, good news and....good news XD

Mon Dec 14, 2009, 9:12 PM
well, my first batch of good news is that we now have our internet back, and I can continue posting from my mothers PC, rather then from an I-phone, or the Library.

My next batch is threw the UNBELIEVABLY awesome generosity of a pal of mine, I'm getting a new PC to replace my busted one, hopefully one in which I can not only continue GIMP work on all my accounts, but also stories, and even return to "The Blue and the Gray"

and last but definitely not least, on the 28th is my 19th Birthday. yippee....19.

The Fun Gets Better

Ok, hares the great awesome deal: Not only is my own PC busted, but due to issues beyond our control, we’re going to be losing the internet till our phone company can work out some beurocratic crap.

I’ll respond once I’m able to, but until then...Marry Christmas all and have a Happy New Year, as I will not be able to say it in person.

PC Problems.

Sun Dec 6, 2009, 9:32 PM
Well, she’s at it again, My PC has failed. Luckily it’s just mine so I can still communicate via My Mother’s PC. The issue is, it will start up and run fine for maybe half an hour, then all of the suddenly, it will shut itself down, like I told it to turn off. Have no clue why, if its overheating or something.

I can still scan my drawings and post them, as well as do writings and such, but I can ink or color anything for GIMP was on my PC.

Damn, right befor Christmas too. I might just take the initiative and save up my pennies for a Laptop. So tired of my giant Desktop failing on me.
