My latest creation. WRR #3. An 1800s ten wheeler. Only thing left to do is the WOLF on the tender. The wood load on the tender is scratch built. It includes logs, a tarp, and some chains. The cab was detailed, and a new bell and whistle where added.
Awesome! That engine looks pretty cool, but it keeps making me having to desire driving a certain type of Europion sports car in frount of it and have if push the car along.

Wow real nice job on the painting! It looks smooth and real professional. Nice bell, the original bell that came with the TYCO 4-6-0's was never the best, I have 3 of these engines and one of them the cheap bell broke off. Out of every steam locomotive this has got to be one of my favorites. I literally worship this locomotive. The real thing owned by the Sierra railroad is currently being rebuilt too and I can't wait to see it running again.
Like I said I have 3 of these I bought in a set on ebay, one of them I kept in the original colors just for fun, another I painted up to look like the real thing, and the third one... my favorite.. I painted and made decals for it and recreated the locomotive that pushes the Delorean time machine in Back to the Future 3. I'd be honored if you would check out some of my pictures of it. She's my most prized locomotive of my fleet.
Anyways like I said it looks great and I enjoy seeing other's work, if it's not a whole lot of trouble I would love to see a close up of the tender and the cab. Thanks for the fav!
No problem, I was planing a shot of my work on the tender. (the original woodpile just didn't do it for me.) The locomotive is a nice runner. she is one of the original Mantua built units, not the later TYCO ones. But they esenchily are the same locomotive. The Bell and whistle are brass castings. The locomotive is mostly original. But detailing and painting has turned her into a whole new beast.
I agree with you. I love the 1800s ten wheeler. It just has that just right" look to her. I have been keeping my eyes on SRR #3. and on a recent trip to CA last summer I got a sneak peak behind the curtens at her restoration and new welded boiler. Shes been around for 100 years...and shes gonna be good for another 100! long live SRR #3

ah, I never did catch the difference between the TYCO and Mantua ones.
Hey I've been trying to get some good sound clips of the locomotive, you wouldn't happen to know what kind of whistle she had before the rebuild? I tried using the ones from the movies but there always has to be some other sound in the background or music or something. I hope they don't change the whistle because that was my favorite part, that and the balloon stack. Speaking of that last I saw they changed it to a tube stack.
Try the TV show "Casey Jones" She played the Cannonball in it and they always had a good sound whistle shot of her without music playing. But I'm not shire (its also a pretty good show. Lots of SRR trackage shots from the 1950s, as well as seeing #3 with a string of SRR coachs, and baggage cars)
Only warning is she played #3 in the serires, but not the pilot. So don't be confused if you run in on that. Just serch "casey Jones" on Yoiutube and you will find a cash of episodes.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
